EDIT: To clear this up, as it has come to my attention that some of the people I am trading with do not know this and we're offended by this post, this is my senior capstone project. This is the doll I have to make in order to graduate, and the one that the due-date was moved up by 6 weeks. I'm not blowing anyone off! I am merely trying to graduate on time
I currently have the head of the first in the cue of dolls (Cassie's Asian style) to make sitting on my desk waiting to be baked. That doll will be done by Friday, and I will then make *voodoomystique
's dragon, then begin on the March dragons.
TEASE TEASE TEASE!!! Here's a sneak peek of my big boy! For size reference, I have Terra sitting with him. She is my second biggest doll, about 16" high (41 cm)
This guy was heavily influenced by Jim Henson. I listened to "The Dark Crystal", "The Storyteller", and "The Labyrinth" While I worked on him, sprinkled with Face Off, Merlin, Lost Girl, Being Human, and Once Upon a Time...it was 50 hours lol. I kept it strictly Jim Henson while I was sculpting though. I wanted to be able to capture life in his face and paws. I'm going to have to watch those movies more often when I sculpt, the result was pretty awesome in my opinion! Wait til you see his wings. They're intense!
This has been the most time consuming, supply eating, exhausting project I've ever embarked on. Even so, I've discovered that I LOVE making giants, and plan to make a few more in the not-too-distant future. They'll come faster now that I know what I'm doing, but still. So....much....sewing o.O
Enjoy! I have some mods to do before I release final photos, though I might put up a few of the two of us at the art show ceremony yesterday in the next couple days. Annnnd I might cave and put up some more photos before I do the skeleton mods. He's sewn shut I just discovered a few places he needs more reinforcement.
